Located in south Cote d'Opale, Belle Dune is widely recognised as possibly the best links course in France. Belle Dune is a tough, uncompromising dunes/links style course and is only 35 minutes drive from Le Touquet. Set inside the biggest bird sanctuary in France, Belle Dune shares in the natural delights that are on offer in the Baie de Somme.
Designed by the Belgian Architect, Paul Rolin, the Dunes symbolises the Opal Coast with its lakes, sand dunes, wooded valleys and breathtaking landscapes. The club house, overlooks the putting green, 1st tee and 18th green and offers a superb restaurant with cuisine that can only be described as a credit to the resident chefs and management.
It was in 1906 that the original Pines Course, presided by the Duke of Argyll, brother-in-law to King Edward VII, attracted numerous golfers from Northern Europe. In 1931, it was re-designed by Tom Simpson and ever since has been host to many National and International Competitions. Built and designed in a superb pine forest, with fairways following the natural contours of the ever-present dunes. ...
Inaugurated in 1904, the course is beautifully set among the pine trees of Le Touquet and less subject to the vagaries of the wind. Although it is not as challenging as its sister, the La Mer course, you will quickly discover that wayward shots are punished. Players of all levels will experience some unforgettable moments on this calm and peaceful course.
Superbly sculpted within the dunes, reminiscent of a Scottish links, the centre stage for numerous Major championships, La Mer Course has been Le Touquet’s crowning glory for more than 60 years. A course which has entertained some of the world's greatest players, from Sam Torrence, the current record-holder of the course (63 at the French Open in 1976) to Tiger Woods.
Although considered to be the least challenging of the three Le Touquet golf courses on account of its wide and generally flat fairways, this 9-hole Le Touquet golf course can present the golfer with an enjoyable challenge. It is the perfect course to fine tune your swing before stepping up on the first tee on either Le Touquet La Mer or La Foret.
