Turnberry Ailsa - Par 70, 6440 Yards
Turnberry Ailsa
It was the Ailsa where the famous duel between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson took place, in the 1977 Open. It was then, in brilliant sunny weather, that a capacity crowd was treated to an exhilarating display of golf from two of the best golfers in the world. Turnberry Ailsa is regularly rated in the top three of Britain's best coures, so it was no surprise when it was selected as the venue for Open Championshipin 2009. Tom Watson gave a tremendous performance throughout the whole week, but in the end it was Stuart Cink who pulled through, to clinch his first Claret Jug.
